Băile Olănești is a spa resort almost entirely modernized in 2010. It has 35 springs with curative waters, which were awarded the gold medal at the International Exhibition in Vienna, due to their efficacy in medical treatments. It is the most important health spa resort in Romania in what regards the big number of springs, their water flow and the variety and concentration of the elements in the waters’ composition. There are numerous facilities for treatment using the mineral and thermal sulphurous waters. Here you can also find a covered pool with thermal water and a balneary centre.
Băile Olănești has much more to offer to its tourists, apart from the benefic balneary cures. The beauty of the landscape and of the nearby sights is also attractive. You can take a long walk on an alley carved in the mountain, on the Olănești River’s valley, or visit the reservation of white and yellow lilies, situated within 15-20 minutes walking distance from the resort’s centre.
Near Olănești you can visit numerous monasteries, such as Horezu or Cozia, both situated within 1h driving distance. You can also explore the natural beauties of the Buila – Vânturarița National Park. If you are seeking a bit of adrenaline, the surrounding mountains are appropriate for hiking.
