Tour 1

3-day Dobrogea Tour

Day 1 (205km): From Constanţa, take E87 road south to Mangalia for a short tour of the city. Head to Adamclisi to visit Tropaeum Traiani monument and stop for a wine tasting at Murfatlar winery before accommodating in Mamaia.

Day 2 (150km): Head north to see the ruins of the Greek colony of Histria and stop in Jurilovca to visit the Ethnographic Museum. On the way to Murighiol, your stop for the day, take a detour to admire the ruins of Enisala medieval fortress and the panoramic view over Babadag and Razim lakes that it offers.

Day 3 (170km): Less than 2km from Murighiol you can visit the antique Halmyris citadel. Spend the rest of the day exploring Tulcea and enjoying a delicious fish soup. Return to Constanţa, not before visiting the Museum of Oriental Art in Babadag.


Tour 2

3-day Dobrogea Tour

Day 1 (160km): Leave Constanţa and head north to see the ruins of the Greek colony of Histria. Stop in Jurilovca to visit the Ethnographic Museum and then go to the nearby village of Enisala to admire the ruins of a medieval hilltop citadel. End the day in a pension in Murighiol, enjoying fish-based gastronomic delights.

Day 2: Early in the morning, visit the Halmyris Citadel and then abandon your car in favour of the ferry that will take you through the Danube Delta to Sfântu Gheorghe and back.

Day 3 (175km): Head to Tulcea for a tour of the city and then go to Babadag for a glimpse of oriental art in the local museum. Instead of taking E87 road directly to Constanţa, follow DJ222 that will lead you through Cheile Dobrogei Geological Reserve.


Tour 3

5-day Dobrogea Tour

Day 1 (205km): Leave Constanţa and go south to Mangalia for a short tour of the city. Head to Adamclisi to visit Tropaeum Traiani monument and stop for a wine tasting at Murfatlar winery before accommodating in Mamaia.

Day 2 (150km): Discover a different part of Dobrogea by visiting the Greek colony of Histria and the Ethnographic Museum in Jurilovca. Take a detour to admire the ruins of Enisala medieval fortress and then stop for the night in Murighiol.

Day 3: Visit the nearby Halmyris Citadel and then return to Murighiol to jump in the ferry that will take you through the Danube Delta to Sfântu Gheorghe and back.

Day 4 (140km): Spend the first part of the day in Tulcea and then visit the Paleochristian monument in Niculiţel and the ruins of the Noviodunum Roman castrum before ending the day in Brăila.

Day 5 (215km): Take a tour of the city and then spend some time exploring the closeby Măcin Mountains National Park. Enjoy a glass of wine from Murfatlar winery and end the journey by returning to in Constanţa.


Tour 4

7-day Dobrogea Tour

Day 1 (205km): From Constanţa, take E87 road south to Mangalia and then turn west toward Adamclisi, to visit Tropaeum Traiani monument. Halt for a wine tasting at Murfatlar winery before stopping in Mamaia for the night.

Day 2 (155km): Visit the antique Histria colony and then drive along Goloviţa and Razim lakes, stopping on the way at the Ethnographic Museum in Jurilovca, the ruins of Enisala citadel and those of Halmyris citadel, near Murighiol.

Day 3 (40km): Take the ferry from Murighiol to Sfântu Gheorghe and spend the day on the beach. Return to Murighiol and drive to Tulcea for accommodation.

Days 4-5: Boat tours will take you in the heart of the Danube Delta. Head to Sulina, stopping on the way in Maliuc or Crişan for a delicious fish soup. On the return trip to Tulcea, make a detour through the area of the lakes Fortuna, Nebunu, Meşter and Lacul Lung.

Day 6 (100km): Leaving the delta behind, you can head west to Niculiţel, where you can visit the Paleochristian church and taste some wine from the local winery. The Roman castrum Noviodunum lies just 13km north, so it’s a must-see before ending the day in Brăila.

Day 7 (205km): The last day of the tour will lead you through Măcin Mountains National Park on your way to Babadag, a town housing an interesting Museum of Oriental Art. Optionally, before returning to Constanţa, you can stop at the Murfatlar winery for a glass of Lacrima lui Ovidiu.
