If you are in Timișoara and want to taste delicious traditional food from Banat, head for Casa Bunicii Restaurant, where you will feel just like in your grandmother’s house. Since 2009, when it was opened in a historical building close to the city centre, Casa Bunicii welcomes hundreds of guests every day, impressing them with delightful dishes served in a wonderful atmosphere.

When opening the menu, you might find apparently strange combinations of ingredients, but the taste will make you fall in love with the regional cuisine in Banat. The menu includes both simple and sophisticated dishes, old and new, reminding the guests of their childhoods. Apart from the specialties from Banat and the game meat, the dishes belonging to the international cuisine will also make a good impression due to their taste, smell and appearance, as well as to the innovative ways in which they are served. If you go to Casa Bunicii with your half, we recommend you to order Grandma’s Platter (Platoul Bunicii) for two, which includes chicken and beef with sour cherries sauce on a bed of apples and grilled vegetables. End the night with a portion of “gomboți cu prune”, a type of dough filled with plums, which is a traditional Romanian dessert.

The restaurant is a great choice especially for families with children, as it offers numerous dishes for kids and a wide range of facilities meant to transform taking children out into a real pleasure. Here you will find interior and exterior playgrounds, garden toys, chairs for children, toilets for children and baby changing tables in the ladies room.

At Casa Bunicii you can also organize important private events in your life or in the life of your dear ones, such as baptism parties, anniversaries or festive dinners. Inside, the restaurant can host up to 90 people, while the summer garden offers seating for approximately 100 guests. The warm, friendly atmosphere and the excellent service are additional guarantees that you will have a great time.
