Timişoara Zoological Garden, situated in the Green Forest in the north-eastern part of Timişoara, is the main weekend attraction for families with children in the region. Spreading on a surface of 6.34 hectares, the zoo was completely modernized in 2007 to comply with the European standards in the field.
Now, the Zoological Garden includes 16 habitats that accommodate 144 animals belonging to 29 different species. Visitors can admire here domestic and wild animals from all the continents, the most exotic ones being the wildcats, reindeers, hussar monkeys, macaques, emus, maras, raccoons, guanacos and red-necked wallabies.

How to get there:
Timişoara Zoological Garden is situated 10 minutes away by car from the Banat Museum. From here, take Ion C. Brătianu Blvd and continue on Hector Street until you reach the Fountain of the Cardinal Points. From here, turn right on Take Ionescu Blvd, continue on Simion Bărnuţiu Street and Calea Dorobanţilor for 2.6 km. Turn left on Pădurea Verde Alley and continue driving for 1km, then turn left and right. Continue driving for 500m before reaching your destination.
