The Casino is the most emblematic edifice in Constanţa, situated on the romantic promenade which runs along the waterfront. Built in 1910, it is considered to be the pearl of the city’s architecture. To the prevailing Art nouveau style were added traditional Romanian, Baroque and Rococo architectural elements. Initially designed as a pavilion for Queen Elisabeta (Carmen Sylva), in the present the Casino functions as a restaurant and a bar.
